MRJ Associates is working on behalf of our client based in East London, who are currently recruiting for Senior Family Practitioner (Team Manager) within Local authority paying £21 per hour. Purpose of the post: Job Description and Person Specification Template To manage a small team of early help Family Practitioners to coordinate evidence based interventions as part of a wider skills mix multi-agency system, in order to provide intense support to families with multiple and complex needs. To give quality one to one and group supervision to Family Practitioners in order to practice using a range of skills such as coaching and mentoring, alongside performance management. To support Family Practitioners to complete child centred holistic family assessments using a range of evidence based tools to identify adverse childhood experiences and factors impacting on family functioning, in order to increase resilience, parenting capacity and promote good child and parent attachment in order to support child outcomes. To respond resourcefully to families at risk of poor outcomes at the earliest opportunity, making full use of community resources and settings to support children to achieve a good level of development and reduce family isolation in order to sustain outcomes. Job Description and Person Specification Template Main duties and responsibilities: Job Description and Person Specification Template To oversee the day to day work of the Family Practitioners in accordance with the education service family support standards, practice guide and Multi-Agency Team protocol. To be responsible for the assessment, allocation, reviews and evaluations of all cases held by the team to ensure management oversight of family support plans and that cases are managed safely. To promote an environment that safeguards and protects children and take responsibility for ensuring that appropriate safeguarding procedures are adhered to. To manage referrals, assessments and reviews of the respite crèche provision. To provide one to one support in the home to model practice to assist parents/ carers to develop practical skills and strategies to parent their child. To act as lead professional for individual families to coordinate and share information to support a team around the child. To support parents/carers care of their child through targeted work in the home, group work and coordinated services and activities; and support with barriers such as housing and financial matters that impact on parenting. To coordinate and deliver parenting groups to support parents/ carers to develop an understanding of their child’s needs and strengthen their parenting skills. To provide structured and individual support to children and families using the appropriate assessment tools, such as Hackney’s Early Help referral form, to create an individual plan with agreed outcomes, targets and review dates. To act as the lead professional for individual families holding a small case load when required and support the parents/carers care of their children through home visits, group work and referrals to other services. To work flexibly as required by the service and to participate in children’s centre and multi agency meetings and events to contribute to service development and advocate on behalf of vulnerable children and families. Level 4 Award in Work with Parents Significant experience working with children and families. Experience of supervising or managing others or facilitating service development with children and families. Experience of providing parenting support, delivering parenting programmes, groups or forums to vulnerable families with complex needs.
