Overview

We currently have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Web Developer to deliver a significant programme of Digital Transformation which will impact on every aspect of our organisation, focusing on delivering better value, quality and efficiency in all of our services across North Norfolk. You will be based in Norfolk working on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £26,999 - £35,934 per annum. At the heart of that transformation is the ongoing development of web services, offering an engaging user experience to deliver fully transactional services covering all areas of the Council’s work. To support this, we are looking to appoint an additional Web Developer to join the team delivering both the Council’s public facing website and intranet which is based on the Microsoft technology stack. Responsibilities as our Web Developer: - Provide the technical expertise and direction for the development, maintenance and support of web technology within the Council. - Implement efficient integration between the web applications and the Council’s back office applications. - Use your experience to suggest the best enterprise, open source and commercial web technology and software for the solution at hand, and to mentor other team members in this area. - Design, develop and implement complex web solutions in response to business requirements across all service areas requirements. - Provide advice, guidance and training to other members of the applications team and other users of the Council’s web technology. - Contribute to the Council’s business transformation programme and IT Action Plan. - Deliver secure web applications utilising best practice. - Take responsibility for your own Health and Safety at work and that of other persons who may be affected by your actions. - Any other work required and as directed within the confines of the existing grading and post. What we’re looking for in our Web Developer: - Knowledge and practical experience of MVC development on a Microsoft technology stack ( IIS, SQL server, vb.net, C#) - Knowledge and practical experience of modern web programming languages such as XML, HTML5, CSS3, JSON, JQuery, and JavaScript - Experience of Databases - Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.x up to AA standard - Experience of using 3rd party systems and software to produce websites / forms - Knowledge of Change Control and Release Management - IT related Level 4 or above qualification or extensive experience of web development - Good verbal and written communication skills - Good attention to detail Closing date : Tuesday 3rd March 2020 at 9am Interviews : Thursday 12th March 2020 If you would like to be considered as our Web Developer , then please click “ Apply ” now for more information
