Academy Music Group are recruiting for a Maintenance Operative based at O2 Academy Sheffield. The role will be responsible for ensuring that the day to day maintenance work of the Venue is undertaken in a timely, effective and efficient manner. RESPONSIBILITIES General To ensure that the day to day maintenance work of the Venue is undertaken in a timely, effective and efficient manner Specific To ensure that a weekly maintenance "Check List" is compiled, prioritised, actioned and given to your Line Manager To ensure the general upkeep of the venue is maintained ensuring backstage areas are ready for artist arrival, and FOH areas are ready for the public To ensure that all problems and defects are logged, reported and where practical remedied and reported to your Line Manager To ensure an ongoing Maintenance program is implemented and documented To ensure that all work is carried out within the budget set by your line manager Ensure that the building is safe and ready for public admittance for each event To liaise with all relevant contract Suppliers to the Venue To ensure that the company's health and safety policy is adhered to at all times Responsible for sourcing suppliers based upon criteria such as cost quality and availability To undertake "projects" as and when directed by your Line Manager To ensure that the building and its surrounding areas are kept clean, tidy and safe at all times To ensure that adequate stocks of consumables (e.g cleaning fluids, light bulbs, etc) are maintained within budgets set by your Line Manager To manage the department within the budgets set by your Line Manager To have a sound working knowledge of the venue and its facilities and where necessary take immediate action to ensure a safe working environment To keep the maintenance area "clean & tidy" To undertake other duties that from time to time may be deemed reasonable To ensure that key events are covered when required To be available for emergency call outs when required Working both days and evenings, business dependent REQUIREMENTS Essential Previous experience of working within a similar environment Sound knowledge of common maintenance tasks - plumbing, decorating, carpentry, etc. Ability to understand and manage budgets Proactive in dealing with maintenance issues within the building Ability to plan and organise maintenance tasks to meet deadlines and manage any conflicts that may arise Computer literate with knowledge of Excel and Word Ability to work to deadlines Desirable Understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations relating to music venues Qualifications in any or all of the following - Electrical, Plumbing & Carpentry. Other desirable qualifications include: Legionella Awareness, Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, Fire Safety
