Overview

I am working alongside a disruptive market leader that is looking for a talented Data Engineer to join their growing team. This opportunity brings with it an opportunity to embrace technology and challenge the notions of technology by working with some of the best in the industry. You will be pragmatic in your behaviour to understand your audience, re-imagine fresh new ideas, a natural problem solver who challenges and sets a bar any true technologist would be proud off. This is a new role within this business and will run in line with their Big Data, Data Science and Cloud teams. This role will offer the right candidate a chance to shape what the Data Engineering proposition looks likes. To be successful in the role, you will need to be a self-starter, hungry for knowledge and be comfortable working in various environments. Adaptability and agility are key for this role, alongside excellent communication skills. You will ideally have some of these skills: Python Hands-on experience with the likes of SQL, Kafka, Spark or Cloud Services Hands-on experience with distributed NoSQL storage (HBase, Cassandra) Understanding of cluster resource management tools (YARN, Mesos) Cloud architecture (ie AWS Kinesis, Data Pipeline, EMR, Glue, Redshift, Athena) Hadoop ecosystem exposure is also a benefit (YARN, HDFS, HBase, custom MapReduce jobs, Hive/Impala) Xpertise recruitment acts an employment agency
