Overview

A Manchester based client has an opportunity for an Electronics Test engineer with High power test experience to join them on a long term contractual basis completing a development for a safety critical nuclear project that falls outside of IR35. The Role The client are looking for an Engineer with High Power Test experience, (ideally 440V / 300kW a.c/ 3-phase Motor) for a Class 1 Nuclear power system, this includes cubical and subsequent ‘test house’ testing and EMC chamber/environmental test. The Company The company are an established client recognised for securing important and industry leading projects across multiple sectors. The client offer an option for a condensed working week in addition to competitive hourly pay and a condensed working week. Electronics Engineer In addition to the witnessing of Environmental (Thermal and Shock) testing and EMC testing (and working with the associated standards / documentation). Also, an ability to design and build simple Test Boxes to assist in electrical verification testing. [This is to cover our immediate need for the PHAS project]. PCB Layout work can be done elsewhere in the team and is not a mandatory requirement for this role but could be useful. Experience of power quality testing of aerospace products to standards such as BS 3G 100, DO-160 or MIL-STD-704. [This is to cover our immediate need for the two on-going aerospace projects, and no, we do not have the budget for two separate test engineers]. Required tasks include: Board level diagnostics Creating and exercising test positions Build of jigs and completion of test jigs Carry out of test procedures Test leads and cables Collating results and presenting to test lead.
