Overview

Due to continued growth an internationally recognised microwave and millimetre-wave business with significant international presence across a range of markets is actively seeking a RF Test Technician with electromagnetic radiation / radio frequency knowledge to join the team at their HQ in County Durham. We are able to consider a range of backgrounds and experiences, so in addition to experienced RF Test Technicians, Quality Technicians, and skilled assemblers, applications are also invited from recent graduates, PhD students close to completion, Post-doctoral Researchers, Research Associates, and scientists with a keen interest in Radio Frequency / RF products and semiconductors or optoelectronics. What is essential is to have a good level of manual dexterity and an eye for attention to detail. Some exposure to Test Systems and Test Instrumentation such as Oscilloscope, Spectrum Analysis, Vector Network Analyser, Signal Generator, would be desirable, as would experience of Labview programming and user skills. Training can be given There will be career progression opportunities within the business such as a move into the RF Design Engineering Team in the future. Their products are used in some of the most demanding markets including Aerospace, Commercial, Communication, Defence and Space. As the RF Test Technician you will be performing a business critical role and working with the highly skilled multi-disciplined team to work collaboratively on a wide variety of large projects as well as taking the lead on elements. This is an exciting time to join the business as they are working on some very significant and high profile projects (i.e. commercial satellites, autonomous cars), are continuing to develop new applications for emerging technologies (i.e. 5G and 6G), and are always exploring ways to work with new clients outside of traditional market sectors (i.e. novel propulsion system).
