GBR Recruitment Ltd are working in partnership with a leading food manufacturing business in Lincolnshire, recruiting for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (ideally Electrical Bias, but Mechanical bias also considered if with some Electrical skills, but must have some basic electrical skills) to carry out PPM, reactive maintenance & fault finding on the sites food processing machinery as well as the building / facilities too, across a 4 on 4 off 12 hour shift pattern 6-6 (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off). Overview of the Engineering role: The Shift Engineer maintains the operation of production and premises of the factory, for both mechanical and electrical systems.The individual also provides technical support to the engineering and production departments, reducing production equipment down time and improving machinery efficiencies. Responsibilities : Maintaining a plant maintenance system that meets the requirements of the Plant Maintenance Policy and Engineering work procedure Ensuring that all delegated electrical/mechanical maintenance is performed with full regard to product safety, quality and employee Health and Safety Implementing programs for continual process quality improvement Attending to all documentation relevant to the plant maintenance system and Quality Department requirements Attend to all requirements of the production personnel within the factory Liaising with other Engineers and Factory Leadership to schedule work Liaising with contractors when necessary Purchasing essential spares and equipment at the best possible price Maintaining the job card system in conjunction with Engineering Supervisor Maintaining the cleanliness of the workshop to conform to the Quality standard of the company Adhere to the toolbox guideline procedure Ensure that on completion of a job that the area is clean and tidy Actively take part in machine trials, continuous improvement and other development work Ensure that engineering standards are maintained/improved and that the engineering work areas are maintained to acceptable standards To ensure product quality is at the highest level, by: Ensuring that all delegated electrical/mechanical maintenance is performed with full regard to product safety and quality Implementing programs for continual process quality improvement Working with other sections of the Company to improve quality Required Experience, Skills & Knowledge: Apprenticeship time served engineer with a formal mechanical & electrical qualification. NVQ L3 qualified or similar Food manufacturing or Fresh Produce or FMCG background preferred but not essential Experience of working within an Engineering discipline within the food manufacturing industry Experience of working on a variety of machinery is beneficial; conveyor systems, Baggers, Fillers, Depositors, Mixers, Sorters, Oven, Chillers, Packaging Machines, Shrink Wrapping Machines, Labelling & Printing Machinery & similar Understanding of the principals and practice of food safety and maintenance within a food-manufacturing environment Basic understanding of Food Production Principals and Practices Good organisational, time management and communication skills Creative problem solving and continuous improvement mind-set along with a strong ability to fault diagnose with clear understanding of Root Cause Analysis Self-motivated, methodical and able to work on own initiative This role is commutable from: Lincoln, Boston, Spalding, Sleaford, Wisbech, Grantham, Navenby, Harmston, Waddington, Horncastle, Bourne, Kings Lynn, Skegness, Woodhall Spa, Scampton, Welton, Market Rasen, Newark, North Hykeham, South Hykeham, Bracebridge Heath, Louth, Grimsby, Caistor, Spilsby, Worksop, Gainsborough, Brigg & Scunthorpe, as well as other areas close to these This position could suit someone working as a: Shift Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Craft Engineer, Electrical Bias Engineer, Mechanical Bias Engineer, Multi Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Electrician or similar roles to these with similar duties as listed above Interviews to take place immediately, with a potential immediate start for the right applicant This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89698356
