Overview
Senior Internal Auditor - 6 months - Edinburgh Harvey Nash's private sector client are currently looking for a Senior Internal Audit to join their team in Edinburgh and provide independent risk-based assurance over the effectiveness of risk management, internal control and governance processes. A strong experience with audit methodology is highly desirable. Responsibilities Build and proactively manage relationships with key stakeholders and committees. Add value through communicating audit opinions on/improvements to governance, risk management and control to key stakeholders and committee chairs/attendees in a clear, concise and commercial manner. Become an IA Subject Matter Expert for SL Intl and risk areas. Own the planning and delivery of an audit portfolio, utilising a thorough understanding of risk universe and risk management framework. Build strong two way communication links with other assurance providers (OAPs) and ensure OAP outputs are factored into audit planning and macro opinions. Deliver high quality (right first time) outputs in provision of opinion, adhering to methodology and quality framework. Take ownership of building macro control and risk management opinions. Essential Criteria: Educated to degree level and hold a recognised professional qualification (e.g. audit, risk management, accounting, insurance, etc). Good regulatory awareness, understanding the impact of regulations on the strategic requirements & objectives of the business. Expert specialist knowledge desirable of a relevant area (e.g. Sales & Distribution, Customer Services, Finance, Actuarial, Outsourcing Oversight etc.) with a strong understanding of all relevant technical matters. Experience of operating within a Financial services environment, particularly in an Audit or risk management capacity. Experience of working within a complex and changing environment, with demonstrable ability to adopt and deliver in a fast-moving complex and changing environment. Able to identify risks in current and potential future business scenarios, and to articulate an appropriate control position to management. This is an initial 6-month contract on offer.
