Overview
The opportunity… This company is a leading UK retailer headquartered in Trafford Park, Manchester. They've been in the market for over 25 years and have over 200 stores throughout the UK, plus an online presence - which is where this role comes in. Right now they are growing their Product & UX team and are looking for a talented Front End Developer to join them. This is a collaborative, Agile environment and the role will be working closely with other Developers and UX Designers. The current focus is to modernise their online presence and enhance their digital offerings for customers. Most of the initial work will be on the company website but in time there may be an opportunity to work on a mobile app as well. Your responsibilities will include: Building high quality, scalable software that is both visually appealing and easy for customers to navigate Utilising customer data and interpreting a/b testing insights to create engaging experiences Getting involved in documentation reviews and pair programming Being innovative and thinking of new ways to improve customer offerings Working with the core tech stack: JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML and CSS What you'll bring to the role… We're open to considering different levels of experience within the following areas: Commercial experience writing and maintaining software, preferably from within an e-commerce / retail organisation Delivering front end applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS Experience with JS frameworks, ideally Angular but open to looking at similar tech (React, Vue, jQuery) Understanding of SEO best practices Experience with automated testing / cross-browser testing would be beneficial On top of the tech stuff we're looking for someone who is able to communicate well and work effectively with the team, is passionate about building great software, and takes an innovative approach to their work.
