Job Title: Assistant Accountant Salary: Competitive Plus Company Benefits Location: Cromwell Head Office. Wigston, Leicester - LE18 2FS Start Date: ASAP Duration: Full Time Permanent - 38 hours per week Assistant Accountant Introduction: The role will support in providing key analysis and commentary to key stakeholders as well as provide support in process and policy alignment to US Group ensuring SOX/internal controls compliance. You will work closely with the Management Accountants and Financial Accountants. A great challenge for someone currently working towards an accounting qualification who wants a great deal of exposure in the work environment Assistant Accountant Role Responsibilities include: Transactional elements of finance area (i.e. COGs, OPEX etc.). Support in the preparation of monthly provisions and accruals. Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Support in managing and accurately accounting for sub ledgers working closely with other departments within the business. Support in maintaining a reliable financial control framework with clear structured processes and procedures. Support in the preparation of reporting decks including commentaries on management accounts variance to plan and prior periods. Assist external and internal stakeholders in requests related to responsible areas. Automate, refine and continuously improve monthly end schedules and processes as required. The ideal Assistant Accountant: Good accounting knowledge with the ability to understanding accounting concepts. Experience of data mining and data manipulation. Strong Excel skills. Experience of being part of monthly and month end reporting - including data mining and routine accounting task. Experience in preparation of balance sheet reconciliations. Experience in journal postings and transactional analysis. Experience within industry, preferably within a finance team. AAT qualified or relevant degree.
