Overview
Plan, monitor, and record software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor contracts Work with Procurement and Accounting team members to ensure policies and procedures are followed and purchases are made, recorded and tracked correctly Track and ensure notice periods are met for changes and cancellations. Identify savings opportunities through software re-harvesting and license optimization Respond to requests from software owners, end users, managers, developers, and team members for specific IT Software Asset Management information Serve as a cost optimization champion with the IT organization Analyze and draft overviews on software in use, required licensing and support company-wide software compliance Investigate and analyze completeness and accuracy of the license balance, valid licensing terms and contracts, metrics, downgrade rights, multiple use rights, etc. Ensure the integrity of license records and deployed software records in the SAM tool Conduct compliance reviews to defined procedures and identify improvement areas Responsible for the governance and management of all aspects of the license management function throughout the software asset lifecycle Understanding of key contract and licensing terms e.g., audit clauses, license metrics, termination etc. Responsible for accuracy of SAM data, including loading of contractual metadata in tool Stay informed of new and updated software license models and options for key vendor products Keep governance and process documentations up-to-date LI-SH Ability to work independently or as part of a team Highly effective oral and written communications skills Business acumen with organizational, analytical, and complex problem solving skills Intermediate to expert Excel spreadsheet knowledge Continuous improvement attitude; ability to seek out and implement external leading SAM practices Knowledge of vendor licensing terms and conditions Understanding of Asset Management tools and technologies (ServiceNow, SCCM, etc.) Ability to prioritize tasks based on criticality & meet deadlines Strong quantitative skills, including the ability to accumulate, organize, and assimilate large amounts of information Strong interpersonal and team building skills; ability to work with a diverse team and help influence/drive change across functional, regional, and business boundaries Experience in software licensing, software procurement, and/or other relevant fields Ability to work pro-actively, virtually, and face-to-face in group setting Ability to present, ask questions, summarize, and lead small meetings
