Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Claims Negotiator to assist and support our customers when they need us most. The role To proactively managing a portfolio of cases, investigating liability and third party presented quantum claims in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Europe (Damage and Personal Injury up to a value of £25,000) and agreeing fair outcomes within policy and legal liability. Your remit will include; Gathering of information to enable early arrival at the correct liability decision giving consideration to economic settlement, pro-actively secure appropriate recoveries to limit business exposure Settle Third Party Claims within financial handling authority to achieve the optimum claims settlement using department and best practice strategies, whilst at all times giving appropriate consideration to avoidance of unjustified litigation and unnecessary spend Identify potential fraudulent cases and liaise with the relevant departments to combat fraud Negotiating between the Policy holder, Solicitors and Third Parties to get the best outcome for our customers Manage and own the customer experience (including third party), ensuring adherence at all times to the principles of Treating Customers Fairly and Internal Processes and Procedures Manage and maintain effective relationship with both internal (Hire, Intervention, Customer Claims, Counter Fraud, Underwriting) and external stakeholders (Repairers, Solicitors, Investigators) to ensure service level agreements, internal and external policies and governance are adhered to Skills, Knowledge & Experience Experience Excellent Problem Solving Capabilities Active Listening Skills Ability to Manage Own Workload Strong Relationship Building Skills Strong Communication Skills Good Level of Computer Skills Experience of handling of claims presented by Third Party's Desirable Insurance Based Qualification (Cert CII etc) Benefits Please find some of the great benefits we offer here at Hastings Direct; A competitive salary and an attractive benefits package which we can share upon shortlisting, please contact for more information A friendly, dynamic and flexible environment with a test-and-learn culture Structured career path that rewards achievements and focuses on development Broad exposure to senior management and ability to contribute to real change Up to 5% bonus earning potential 25 days holiday Life assurance Competitive pension Flexible benefits - buy or sell holidays Discounted Hastings Direct products Hastings Group is an equal opportunities employer which means we treat people fairly.
