Overview
A highly successful and professional north east accountancy firm based in Newcastle are continuing to experience further demands upon their services and as a result are looking to appoint a Accounts & Outsourcing Senior to their team. Your role will be both varied and diverse supporting the accounting services of small and medium sized businesses with their year end statutory accounting in line with the firm’s procedures. You will need to competently be able to pull together a set of year end statutory accounts for first review. In addition you will also be involved in accounting for their outsourcig services as "industry Accounts Assistant" whereby you will be responsible for the day to day accounting for a small portfolio of medium sized organisations. This element of the role requires a close working relationship with the business owners, understanding not only their business, but providing a detailed full service of their accounts on a weekly basis. You will be involved in both bookkeeping and management accounts for these clients, working to at times strict deadlines, identifying trends and providing insightful commentary. Industry experience is beneficial for this role, however we would also require someone familiar with working in an accountancy practice, able to work quickly and efficiently managing a portfolio of recurring work. You will need experience of preparing annual accounts, VAT returns and management accounts. Ideally you will be a Xero and or Sage user, comfortable with cloud based systems and able to work your way around excel. Certain technical areas can of course be trained, however we do want someone who is a team-player and happy to go the extra mile if required. This a customer facing role, so a positive can do attitude and willingness to want to be part of a successful team is essential.
