Overview
Prerequisite : Process Engineer with relevant degree At least 4 years’ relevant experience. Experience with process plant using pipework at elevated temperatures and pressures. Hands-on practical and creative approach to problem solving with prototype systems, meticulous eye for detail, ability to work with independence and as part of a small team, and deliver to tight timescales. Experience with HAZOPs, HAZIDs and hazardous area design. Understanding of system control, instrumentation and systems integration. Design and implementation of P&IDs, datasheets, equipment specification. Excellent knowledge of process safety. Full UK Driving License. Willing to work in Central London and Cranfield University, other supplier locations when required. Desirable Chartership with relevant engineering institution or working towards Chartership. Experience in Power Generation sector, or similar. Knowledge of Process modelling software. Experience of hands on commissioning. Experience writing functional design specifications. Experience in SIL/LOPA. Description IPG is an ambitious mechanical engineering start-up currently integrating a suite of proof-of-concept technology into our first full prototype 100kW containerised micro-turbine using natural gas and air. Our ambition is to provide a key product to support the rapid roll-out of EV charging and distributed power using natural gas, future fuels and renewable energy. Our very attractive and modern design offices are located in Borough, Central London, and our practical work is currently carried out between locations in Milton Keynes and Letchworth. We are seeking an experienced process engineer whom, over the next few years, can take a lead in the many aspects of process design and connectivity, management of P&ID and equipment schedules, selection of process equipment, process safety, and systems integration. The role can expand in several directions following the prototype delivery with continuous employment involving verification improvements, productionisation, alternative fuels, reliability, quality management, and further development of exciting new technologies.
