Overview

The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a top notch AV Project Engineer to join a global integrator in a senior position. You will provide high level technical support to project managers and installation teams in carrying out the fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning activities of our client providing AV systems to universities, colleges, public sector organisations, retail, and corporate accounts, in accordance with agreed business plans. You will provide a technical review of installation projects under direction of the Project Managers, provide end-user technical training and support to the installation team when required. You will have a comprehensive understanding and experience of the audio visual industry, AV system design principles, IP Networks, CAD software and the commercial realities of the market. Your responsibilities will include: Technically support Project Managers, including assistance with hands on commissioning where required. Produce and or provide technical training for end-users. Amend Audio Visual system design including CAD schematics and costings when required by project teams. Keep current with the technical aspects of the systems being installed through manufacturer training. Review and approval of technical documents (Schematics, rack drawings, layout drawings and detailed technical info for IP systems) for handover to Project Management. Provide status and feedback of the technical aspects of the projects assigned to the Project Manager, Engineering Department, and the Account Manager. Based in London you will also travel across UK as well as overseas at times. Basic salary is very competitive plus car and bonus scheme. Your skills and experience You will ideally have a Degree level qualification and be highly computer literate MS office AutoCAD. Industry trained (AMX /Crestron / Polycom / Cisco / Extron / DANTE / SDVoe). CTS You will have a full working knowledge of all aspects of audio visual systems including digital video, digital and analogue audio, TCP/IP and RS-232 control, projection and display technologies, TCP/IP networks, control systems, and audio visual system troubleshooting. Demonstrable track record of successfully supporting installation teams with technical assistance and problem solving for professional AV equipment and systems into the corporate, education and / or public sector. You will be self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior company or public sector executives. Reliable, tolerant, and determined. An empathetic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view. Well presented and businesslike. Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel as required. Keen for new experiences and responsibility and accountability. Able to get on with others and be a team-player. Detailed knowledge of all professional Audio Visual system components, complexities and commercial realities. Additional skills: You will be capable of designing, costing and commissioning complex audio visual systems. Capable of explaining the features and benefits of complex integrated AV systems to both technical and non-technical individuals. Have excellent communication skills.
