Overview
Our partner client is a blue-chip, fast-paced market leader in the FinTech/Data world who have a truly global footprint and are currently going through an exciting period of transformational change. The Senior Financial Analyst will transform the business unit consolidation processes and reporting driving and effective analytics for the financial roll up of monthly results and forecast. The role is within the Segment FP&A team and reports to the Business Unit Director. This unit comprises key enabling functions including technology, infrastructure, marketing and commercial excellence across the organisation. Key overall responsibilities include analytics and build of driver-based trends to present the dynamics of the business and inform commentary and understanding of risks and opportunities; review of the BU consolidation processes driving simplification, standardisation and automation. The analyst will collaborate closely with other BU finance managers ensuring they have clear guidance on deliverables and provide timely and informative data. The Senior Finance Anayst will work closely with other area consolidation teams and with corporate finance ensuring we meet key deliverables for the BU & corporate. The analyst will be overall process owner for allocations understanding the end to end company processes, ensuring effective process, alignment across the business and providing guidance/direction on plan cycles/ process and other major changes Lead on improved analytics and build of driver-based trends to present the dynamics of the business and inform commentary and understanding of risks and opportunities Review the end to end FP&A processes for the financial roll up of the BU monthly results and forecast; ensure effective checklists, deliverables and guidance Support the periodic decks and FP&A Flash reports, month-end close, quarterly business reviews, forecast, OKR’s and Plan reporting with variance commentary as required Meet month end close, forecast, business review, and Plan timelines for analysis and reporting of ExBITDA, Capital, Depreciation, and FTEs Manage master data requirements and understand master data and system frameworks to meet the business needs Work with the Enterprise BU and collaborate across broader finance teams to improve processes, reporting, and efficiency Embrace simplification initiatives ensuring the consolidation team follow standard process and drive improvements where needed Establish and maintain strong business partnerships and cross functional relationships Lead/ participate in ad hoc projects, cross-functional teams, ad-hoc reporting and analysis to help drive the business Allocation process owner Education & Experiences : Newly/recently qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA accountant with 2 years plus FP&A experience in a large, global, complex business with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Management preferred 6 years’ experience in accounting or finance positions with proven upward progression Knowledge and Skills Proactive self-starter comfortable working autonomously and with attention to detail; proven ability to operate well in a complex matrixed environment Willing to embrace our ways of working: Put the customer first; Challenge the Status Quo; Deliver Value; Empower yourself and Others; Embrace a learning mindset Strong relationship management embracing communication and people skills; ability to openly and confidently converse with senior management, influence all areas of the business and present results in a clear and concise manner to senior executives Ability to apply rigorous analysis and add new perspectives to understand existing processes; design best in practice alternatives, and embed in workflows Forward looking analysis and modelling based on trends Demonstrated business and financial understanding to enable accurate reporting with effective insights and commentary Ability to plan, organise and monitor projects, with an understanding of business requirements, and experience of managing effective business change Knowledge of Hyperion, Trove/ OBIEE, and SAP preferred To be considered for this exceptional career opportunity, you will be an ambitious Newly/Recently qualified accountant with a strong academic track record to date and a minimum of 2 years relevant FP&A experience gained in a large, fast-moving and highly complex business environment. You will have some familiarity with accounting and financial reporting, and ideally some proven experience of cost analysis for exbitda and capital gained in Management Accounting or Performance Management roles. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive nature, be very organized with the ability to multi task, managing time and competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication and people skills are a given.
