Overview

We care and treat women aged 18-65 who have a diagnosis of emotional, psychiatric and behavioural difficulties; pose a risk of harming themselves or others and require care within a medium secure environment. Following a period of assessment and once stabilised patient’s progress onto their future care pathways. This can be within the hospital setting or if applicable back to the community. We are an experienced, close knit team, and you will be supported and developed to achieve your own goals whilst working here. Your role with us As a HCA, you'll be under the guidance of a qualified healthcare professional, usually a nurse, and work with doctors, psychologists and a range of other healthcare professionals. The main contact you'll have, though, is with the people in our care. To be a Healthcare Assistant in mental health care, you'll need to be: - Resilient - Caring and kind - Cheerful and friendly - Willing to do personal care tasks (washing, toileting, etc.) in some areas - Able to follow instructions and procedures - Able to work in a team but use your own initiative You'll also need: - Communication and listening skills - Organisational skills - Observational skills The role can be quite active and we would therefore require you to be able to cope with the demands of an active post.
