Overview
Our client is a very highly regarded City of London firm with a strong reputation for advising a client list including well-known brands from the technology, fintech and fashion industries. They are now looking for an additional recently qualified Associate to work in their busy dispute resolution team At this firm you will have the opportunity to become involved in a broad spectrum of cases including: breach of contract; shareholder disputes; employment disputes that result in High Court litigation (high-end wrongful dismissals or team moves); civil fraud disputes; and more general commercial litigation and international commercial arbitration. The case load is both varied and of high quality. Furthermore, you will act for a broad range of clients including well known global names. Most of the work is UK based but plenty of matters involve clients and jurisdicitons overseas, or the application of foreign laws in the UK. The work tends to be "one off" rather than repeat work for institutional/panel clients. The firm (and team) are known for their friendly, cohesive culture and to take good care of Associates' careers and aspirations, and you will be encouraged to take on an appropriate level of responsibility for your level under excellent and engaged partner supervision. Tasks will include drafting of interparty correspondence; document review and disclosure; costs and case management issues; witness statements and pleadings, and liaising with clients, experts and external counsel on a daily basis. In addition to the legal work, the successful candidate would also be involved in business development activities with a view to developing client relationships. In order to be considered for this role, you will probably: Be a recently England & Wales' qualified dispute resolution lawyer with up to 1 PQE, ideally gained within a leading City, West End, or strong regional firm; Have a strong academic background and strong foundation legal skills, including drafting, writing, negotiation and project management; Be adaptable, and enjoy being a trusted business advisor to clients; and Be proactive, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
