Overview
We are working with a Top Tier Tax and Estate Planning Team who are looking for a Private Client Associate to join them on a 6 month FTC in London. Whilst the role is initially for 6 months there is a significant opportunity for further extension and/or permanency. Candidates are likely to have between 4-10 years' PQE and be able to work with autonomy. The role is to start ASAP. The team has a very strong international client base and they work with ultra-high net worth clients and are principal advisers to leading UK banks. The team are also well regarded for providing international tax advice to individuals referred to the firm by Private Banks and trust companies in London and offshore jurisdictions. The successful individual can expect to carry out a full range of private client work with a notable emphasis on international tax and succession planning advice to individuals and trustees; advice to trustees on trust law issues; international succession and wills and probate for ultra-high net worth individuals. The successful candidate will work closely alongside a market leading Partner but will be trusted to exercise their own initiative and work with significant autonomy and oversee more junior members of the team. This opportunity also presents notable opportunities for further career development. Candidates should be able to demonstrate: Between 4-10 years' PQE in handling a wide range of private client and tax and estate planning matters. Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales or another commonwealth jurisdiction. Experience gained in a leading tax and estate planning team. Experience in providing international tax advice. An understanding of international succession law. A strong knowledge of UK personal tax law - to include experience in advising on inheritance tax, capital gains tax and income tax. Knowledge of English trust law - including drafting trusts and related documents. Strong written and oral communication skills. The ability to supervise and delegate.
