The successful Assistant Manager will undertake the following duties: Must have a background in hospitality, with at least a years experience at management level. Although experience in the wine industry is preferable we would expect the candidate to also possess excellent delegation and leadership skills with the ability to lead a team, drive sales and customer experience. You should also understand the basic financials of a restaurant, including margins, stock control and having some HR experience. As part of your role you will be responsible for the implementation and upkeep of all health and safety/fire/food safety standards as well as carrying out all levels of staff training to include induction and refresher training. You will also need to demonstrate the necessary key skills as regards event management, business development/growth in terms of driving sales, budget control as well as stock management. Basics of the role will include, but not limited to: Opening and prepping the restaurant for service; serving customers; handling cash; serving wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks, making tea/coffee; clearing tables; maintaining our standards and following company checklists/standards/schedules; cleaning; restocking; receiving deliveries; event work; attending training courses and meetings; food prep; food service and handling of meats, cheeses and other items on our menu; managing your team; working within a management team; ordering; deliveries; cellar management; in- house events & marketing; staff training and motivation; general standards and day to day running of a busy restaurant ; developing good product knowledge and awareness; supporting your managers in their roles, eating tasty food and being passionate about it in the process.
