Overview

About the Role: We focus on our clients' strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. This role represents an exciting opportunity to join a growing team focussing on real estate transactions and advisory work. Typical projects include tax and financial due diligence; tax structuring for acquisitions, disposals and the formation of funds and joint ventures. How You'll Grow: You will gain significant hand on commercial exposure in this role, working on commercial transactions and client business plans, seeing projects from start to finish as well as ongoing tax advisory work throughout the life of an investment. There will also be opportunities to work across the broader Tax Advisory team to gain wide-ranging skills and experience and develop your career in a progressive and supportive team. What You'll Do Tax due diligence on corporate real estate acquisitions, including compiling information requests, reviewing documents and drafting reports, and managing the input of other specialists (e.g. VAT, capital allowances, employment taxes/CIS) Tax structuring work for acquisitions, refinancing, reorganisations and disposals, including researching technical points, managing the input of other specialists and drafting practical, robustly supported advice and reports Assisting clients on non-tax specific workstreams such as funds flows and financial due diligence Actively keeping up to date on specialist technical matter particularly in light of the changing real estate tax landscape, contributing to thought leadership material as required Tax compliance and reporting for UK companies and non-resident landlords Performing transfer pricing analysis in relation to related party debt financing Advising both landlords and occupiers on all aspects of real estate lease transactions, from initial incentives to renewal, dilapidations and surrender Proactively manage risk and engagement administration Client Delivery: Understand project objectives, and client requirements and deadlines Assist in the planning of project timetables and be responsible for progress; working with the senior team to manage and deliver the project Liaise directly with clients and develop client relationships Attend, and contribute to, client meetings and conference calls Support the team in their respective roles, as required General: Actively participate in business development, as required Assist in the team's internal training programme Q ualifications & Experience Experience in providing real estate tax (or M&A) advisory services on a UK and possibly also an international level Previous experience working within a large tax consultancy firm preferred Proven experience in delivering projects and liaising directly with clients is also essential Excellent organisational and planning skills Ability to prioritise and manage a varied and dynamic workload under pressure An analytical and methodical approach Good commercial grounding and pragmatic approach to problem solving Team player but highly self-motivated with a strong ability to take initiative Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent attention to detail Resilient under pressure, ability to work to tight deadlines and remain focused The drive and ambition to progress and fulfil your full potential Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Appreciation of key issues impacting the real estate industry Education and Qualifications Required: Qualified to a degree level (2.1) or equivalent Studied or studying ACA and/or CTA or equivalent Our Benefits Apart from the well-structured career path and excellent team environment, our employees enjoy a variety of perks and benefits.
