Semi Senior Accountant - Regional Firm of Accountants The Role Our client, a regional independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Barnsley are looking to appoint a part qualified accountant for the position of Semi Senior Accountant. The business is a forward thinking and highly progressive practice, boasting an enviable portfolio of clients throughout the region. Their clients range from smaller developing owner managed businesses through to large limited companies, as a result the role will offer an excellent opportunity to develop experience within both auditing and accounting, although experience within audit is not essential as full training will be provided. Duties and Responsibilities The role of Semi Senior Accountant will support one of the Corporate Service Manager and will assist in the following: Perform audit sections on more technically demanding audits as part of a team, under the direction of a Senior Plan, execute and complete company and group audits within set time frames and budgeted costs Prepare basic corporation tax computations Client bookkeeping Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies Preparation of monthly management accounts As this is a position which will provide continued training and support, it is not necessary for individuals to have experience within all areas, however applicants must have a minimum of 3 years experience working within a firm of accountants. Skills and Qualities To be considered for this position the successful candidate will be part qualified ACCA or qualified AAT with at least 3 years of experience working within a firm of chartered accountants, applications are also encouraged for individuals who have qualified by experience and have decided not to pursue the formal qualification route. You will have developed experience of preparing statutory accounts and tax computation with little supervision and have a good understanding of Sage Accounting Software.
