Job description: We have an excellent opportunity available for a proven and experienced Production Shift Manager to make a difference at Muller Telford. Key responsibilities within this role include: Prompt recognition and actions regarding fault finding and correction. Sharing technical knowledge with team members to improve their capabilities. Mentoring, coaching & developing team members in company behaviours. Cross functional working with all departments Driving continuous improvement ideas through to completion Identifying & supporting, and evaluating production related training & development needs, setting out detailed training plans for the team. Regular and consistent communication with your team through 1-1's, PDP discussions, regular cascade briefs Effective communication & implementation of Company policies, procedures & practices Supporting appropriate Managers/Team Leaders in Absence & Performance Management issues Managing the recruitment process alongside the HR department and the Production Manager Managing discipline of the team through a robust investigation and disciplinary procedure Acting as Champion for instilling high levels of personal safety awareness amongst production employees, striving for changes in systems & procedures to ensure full compliance with safety, health, quality and environmental standards / measures. Ensure Manufacturing Machinery is operated in accordance to laid down procedures Achieving operational targets; For example: CIP / SIP / Flavour change / Format Change / Product/waste management change through the Senior and Technical Operator team. Resource planning and optimising of personnel between all departments. Driving key initiatives through the Asset Care and Total Preventative Maintenance programs. Reporting non-conformance to Production Manager team. Instil and ensure the review and update of company standard operating Procedures. Monitor Machine / plant performance trends and take decisive corrective action. Owning the Operations strategic plan & deliver on KPI's Driving continuous improvement ideas through to completion. Skills, knowledge and experience required: Experience of working within a high volume Food production environment Effective problem solving skills and ability to work under own initiative in a high speed environment Processing / Filling theory Technical Processing Plant / Machine Knowledge Continuous improvement techniques Knowledge of quality standards and effect of incident on quality Leading a Team / coaching techniques Use of Microsoft Office packages Health, Safety, Food Hygiene & Environment Awareness/Knowledge Leading, inspiring and driving for results Capability & Accountability Ability to put initiative into action (Planning & Organizing & Problem Solving & Decision Making) Effective team worker, influencer and communicator Adopts high personal & professional standards High in enthusiasm & passion Passionate for change Flexible and enjoys challenge Results orientated with attention to detail Resilience in the face of continued technical issues Please note, this position follows a shift pattern of 4 on 4 off, 12 hour shifts.
