MECHANICAL FITTER / MACHINE BUILDER LEICESTER £25k - £33k (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE) An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Fitter to join a leading manufacturer of precision machines, with over 95 years experience within engineering and based in Leicester. THE ROLE: As a Mechanical Fitter you will be required to: Assemble mechanical products in accordance with build procedures, drawings and specifications. Use build sheets to ensure times and processes of the build are adhered to. Find innovative ways of improving the design, performance or functionality of the machines When required, manufacture and fabricate bespoke parts in the machine shop Assist with site installations and service visits as and when required working with the installation and commissioning engineers Assist with any alterations or adjustments that need to be made Work with the Chief Engineer to ensure machines function correctly during factory tests. Take notes and log all tasks, modifications, alteration, incidents and jobs as required THE CANDIDATE: The ideal Mechanical Fitter will have: A proven track record in mechanical fitting and assembly. Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills. Excellent problem solving, innovative and creative thinking skills. Self-starting, motivated and highly organized attitude with the ability to work unsupervised. An ability to work on a variety of projects of varying duration. A dynamic approach and ability to challenge the norm. Familiarity with quality issues within projects ideally working with ISO standards. An understanding of Health and Safety at work.
