As part of our growth plans, an opportunity has opened up within our corporate finance division for a Cash and Bank Assistant. This position forms an integral part of a successful finance team, within an exciting and growing industry. The principal responsibilities of the Cash and Bank Assistant are to post all cash transactions and reconcile all bank statements, investigating and resolving any differences. The role will involve dealing with queries from other internal finance functions and/or departments with necessary follow up to a satisfactory resolution. The role also includes other ad-hoc duties within the corporate finance team based in Manchester. What You'll be Doing Day to day team responsibilities are as follows: Posting the cash transactions for all bank accounts within the UK, Singapore and Australia, including: o Banking and posting cheques; o Ensuring inter-company cash transfer are correctly posted/allocated liaising with Corporate Accountants where appropriate Resoling various cash transactions queries including: o Contacting customers if we don’t have the remittance advice related to the payment that we received and/or ensuring our customer pay to the correct bank account; o Tracking and resolving unallocated payments/receipts o Resolving and assisting the maintenance of the Finance operation inbox Performing bank recs Adhering to business deadlines Cover for other duties within the team Ensuring that processes and controls are applied and documented Ensuring that cash transactions are recorded and reconciled in an efficient and accurate manner About You Knowledge of accounting and an ability to identify issues and suggest improvements Attention to detail and accuracy Good levels of communication in verbal and written form Experience of working in a finance environment and/or knowledge of accounting from study perspective Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel The ability to form close working relationships and communicate with team members/other finance individuals/departments Proactive demeanour and takes responsibility Analytical mind Focused on accuracy and self-checking Focus on results and achieving personal work objectives Manages pressure well and copes well with demands from a number of different stakeholders.
