Transport Planning Manager - VR/20821 The Company & Role: Our client is the UK's leading independent logistics provider. They are currently looking for a Transport Planning Manager for one of their group companies, to support their Central Planning team in South Kirby. You will be responsible for planning routes for a combined fleet of 75 trucks running from their sites in South Kirkby, Warrington, Chepstow, Northampton and Tilbury. Responsibilities: Ensuring planned routes are in line with working time directive (WTD) and drivers hours Managing the activities of the Transport Planning team Ensuring the routes are as cost effective as possible and reduce empty running to maximise revenue Producing optimal transport plans and approving transport routes Monitoring the Transport Management software Liaising with our depots and customers as required on deliveries and any issues Providing a vital link between customers and operational teams Producing cost efficient operational transport plans daily, using specific customer IT software Ensuring the department provides a quality first class service to the customer though careful planning Ensuring all activities are in line with budget Ensuring the team complies with health and safety legislation Assisting with project work to optimise schedules and synergies Essential Skills and Experience: Previous experience working in a distribution environment Knowledge of transport legislation IT Literate - Excel and Word are essential Driven and self-motivated Proactive problem-solving capability Flexibility and adaptability Able to work to deadlines and meet targets Excellent communication skills Team Player The position will be on a 4 on 4 off rota, 12 hour shifts If youre interested, click apply now, or email our Shipping Team on
