Excellent opportunity for an experienced Transport Planner passionate about continuous improvement to join a professional, innovate and sustainable global leader Client Details Our client, one of the leading companies in its field with a sustainable, innovative approach and global remit are looking for a Transport Planner to join their existing and friendly team Description Duties and responsibilities of the Transport Planner role include, but are no limited to: Ensure all customer requirements (both internal and external) are satisfied on a daily basis. Act as an interface with customers. Continually review and re-engineer the operation to ensure maximum efficiency. Respond to status and delivery times of shipments and orders so that enquiries are dealt with promptly and accurately Ensure delivery dates and times are met by liaising with customers and suppliers effectively Ensure excellent customer service both internally and externally Maintain up-to-date transportation records in order to track the status of orders and deliveries Recommend improvements to performance i.e. optimising costs by analysing information from SAP Monitor and verify delivery prices and schedules through effective communication with shipping agencies, transport companies and customers Identify, research and build positive relationships with prospective customers that will generate future suppliers / haulers and repeat business Profile The ideal candidate for the role of Transport Planner will possess: An excellent communicator, able to engage and gain the confidence of multiple stakeholders and able to calmly deal with sometimes difficult characters Has the capacity to analyse and anticipate problems and adapt and improve techniques to solve them, before and as they arise. Able to attribute a sense of satisfaction when hitting set targets Self-motivated and able to work to occasional tight timescales Dynamic with a flexible, open-minded approach to achieving goals A natural problem-solver who loves working in a like-minded team Negotiation skills Proficient with MS Office, in particular MS Excel SAP experience or exposure desirable but not essential Has a sense of priorities and is clear about them and follows them when allocating his/her time.
