Our main priority, therefore, is to find staff with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own. Could this be you? Your duties will be varied and no two days will be the same. You'll be providing support for day-to-day living, such as social activities, sports and hobbies, employment, holidays etc along with support with general household duties such as cooking, cleaning and money management. In some services, you may be required to undertake personal care. As a Senior Support Worker you will be expected to lead shifts and assist with coaching and inducting of new staff to the service. You will also be required to participate in the on call rota. You will write daily reports on activities, as well as devising and updating care plans and undertaking risk assessments for the people we support. Our services operate 24/7, so you will work in shifts (as allocated by your manager). This means you may need to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and bank holidays. You may also be required to undertake sleep-in shifts on a rota basis. Chertsey Road is a 24-hour all female residential service, supporting adults aged 55 with learning disabilities and complex needs. The service aims to work with individuals who have complex needs and high levels of vulnerability, supporting and enabling them to become more independent in their every day lives. Chertsey Road employs an outcome focused approach, working with individuals to achieve their goals in a way that is meaningful to them. We aim to promote both independence and integration into the community with fully inclusive support planning, care needs and risk assessment by skilled and qualified staff. The Ideal Candidate We expect our Senior Support Workers to share our vision to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their goals. Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must, as well as computer (Word/Excel) skills and some knowledge of Health and Safety requirements. An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is also required, and significant experience supporting adults with learning disabilities. Above all you need to be kind, caring and ready to work as a team to ensure that our services are comfortable, happy, fulfilling and safe places to live.
