Overview

On behalf of a highly successful organisation, Zenon are looking to source a Business Development Manager - CAMO to be located in Cambridgeshire. The purpose of this position is to provide an aggressive Business Development function in pursuing new and repeat business with external clients across all business lines. Also to work as an active Technical Services Engineer to deliver external consultancy work when required as well as realising novel and cost-effective methods to deliver external consultancy work where insufficient internal resource exists. Achieving and preferably exceeding set Revenue and Gross Profit targets. Matrix managing the resulting workload to minimise the use of external sub-contractors and maximise gross profit. Where external sub-contractors are required, identify novel and cost-effective solutions to both maximise gross profit and remove the risk of client 'poaching' by sub-contractors. Achieving sustainable growth in external revenue and advising when additional staff are required as the business grows. Supporting such future staff requirements with business cases for scrutiny by the directors. Proactively working to increase the number of aircraft subscribed to the Group's preferred supplier(s) for revenue and profit generating services. Maintaining compliance with internal and Group legal and contractual governance requirements. Developing and presenting budgets and forecasts as directed. Drafting the Business Development Strategy and presenting to the directors to achieve continued business growth in line with set targets. Technical Responsibilities Maintaining effective and constructive relationships with external customers on all technical issues, focusing on communication, problem solving and mutual cooperation and respect. For all sub-contracted and contracted external consultancy tasks, managing all technical, resource and client-facing aspects to enable service delivery to be achieved within customers' expectations. Where required, undertake CAMO consultancy work as a Technical Service Engineer to minimise the use of external resources and sub-contractors. Managerial Responsibilities Taking ownership of the financial aspects of the external consultancy business, ensuring that all customer invoicing is correctly completed and ensuring debtor follow up and debt recovery actions are completed to ensure adequate cash flow is maintained. Support the CAMO General Manager in any recruitment activity for resources to fulfil external consultancy work. Identifying efficiency enhancements to reduce costs of service delivery but without adversely compromising safety standards or best-in-class product status. Publishing regular KPIs to demonstrate Business Development activity, performance and progress. Managing expenditure within set budgets. With reference to the Management System, every Technical Services Manager and Deputy has the following additional duties and responsibilities: To prevent accidents and identify hazards; To support and implement Health and Safety at Work policies and accident prevention; Encourage staff to participate actively in safety awareness; To report and document issues as necessary for the functioning of the Safety and Quality Management System; To grant free access to departmental documentation, facilities and aircraft to any relevant Safety, Compliance and Quality Manager or his/her representatives; To assist as required in any audit or monitoring programme planned by any relevant Safety, Compliance and Quality Manager or his representatives. Person Specification 5 GCSE pass grades or equivalent (3 of which must be English, Maths and Science) Proven experience of working and excelling in a Technical Business Development Role. Experience of working in a management role. Proven experience as a CAMO engineer in the Business Aviation sector. Demonstrable and thorough knowledge of Part M regulations Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong understanding of IT software particularly Microsoft office packages. Strong administrative skills with regards to document control. Excellent time management. Strong presentation skills.
