Overview
Optoelectronic Field Engineer required to join leading developer of acoustic optical fibre sensor devices. This role requires candidates with experience of installing fibre optic cabling and components. You will be working on fibre optic system installations and data acquisition surveys. You will be required to travel on frequent basis worldwide (on and offshore) so you must be prepared to spend time away from home. Candidates should meet some of the following criteria will be of specific interest - • Minimum of an HNC in an engineering or scientific discipline • Experience of field installation of fibre optic cables • Experience as a wireline engineer • Hands-on experience of fibre optic sensing systems and knowledge of distributed fibre optics measurements • Knowledge of seismic acquisition and basic data processing Ideally with a technical degree in engineering, optoelectronics or electronics. You must also have strong communication skills and be able to analyse, understand and implement technical drawings. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team as well as demonstrating practical skill in the installation and troubleshooting for optical fibre equipment.
