Overview

Our Client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Supervisor for all production plant, process lines and associated equipment. Role purpose: As the Electrical Supervisor you will be working alongside the Mechanical Supervisor in supervising the maintenance craft team. Primarily you will be responsible for supervising the Electrical Maintenance Technicians, Apprentices and Shift Technicians in all maintenance tasks and activities associated with the manufacturing processes. You will take direction from the Maintenance Manager and work with the Planning/Reliability Engineer and Mechanical Supervisor to deliver coordinated and effective electrical maintenance. Other responsibilities will include issue and control of Permit to Works and ensuring safe working procedures are adhered to. You will also support Plant Development and Systems Engineers and project engineering on current and new process developments. Control System management and training will be supported by Electrical Development Engineer and Electrical Systems Engineer. Key responsibilities: Electrical Equipment Ensure that all maintenance and project activities are undertaken in compliance with statutory and company and mandatory requirements in relation to EHSQ. Accountable for all electrical repairs, and other maintenance activities, to all equipment and facilities within this site, including LV and HV systems. Management and control of electrical documentation, test certificates, cable lists and site drawings Coordinating along with the Maintenance Planning/Reliability Engineer the calibration of process monitoring equipment; thermocouples, temperature controllers and conductivity sensors Electrical Craft Team Efficient allocation of appropriate internal and external electrical craft resources Responsible for electrical uptime of all equipment. Scoping of all electrical work identifying resource requirements and time scales. Champion root cause investigation i.e. Structured Problem Solving including 5 Why , to eliminate failure. Provide technical leadership, professional advice and guidance to all electrical technicians. Responsible for electrical maintenance staff performance and development, including carrying out Performance Evaluations appraisals Ensure the satisfactory management and resolution of employee relations issues within area of responsibility. Maintenance Strategy Implement maintenance strategy, under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager, in order to maximize department efficiency (breakdown, corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance). Work with Maintenance Planning/Reliability Engineer along with Mechanical Supervisor to accurately plan electrical workload. Continued development and management of Work instructions, Troubleshooting guides, Risk Assessments and Single Point lessons Assist in the development of Condition Monitoring technology and its use to predict failure Assist in the control of the maintenance budget Partnerships and Teamwork Support both the Engineering and Technology departments in the implementation of process improvements and CAPEX projects Assist in the design, commissioning and maintenance of new and current assets, in order to maintain operational performance Interaction with production team to plan maintenance activities, in order to minimize downtime and resolve technical problems Support Mechanical Craft Team when Mechanical Supervisor on holiday, sickness, etc. Alongside the Stores Department, ensure that appropriate critical electrical spares are held in stock at all times Corporate Definition Responsible for the planning and executing of planned, reactive and preventive maintenance of production equipment, infrastructure and structures and its effectiveness Responsible for the maintenance shop and external maintenance service suppliers Spare parts management Reliability engineering of equipment and infrastructure Coordination of revamping projects and maintenance shuts Support of Operations Manager in defining the maintenance efforts and strategy according to company needs Special Aspects of the Position Experience in implementing different maintenance systems and strategies. Estimation of workload resource requirements and timescale in conjunction with Maintenance Planning and Reliability Engineer. Produce equipment metrics as directed by the Maintenance Manager i.e. uptime trends Demonstrate ability to engineer solutions to known problems Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience: ONC/HNC, City & Guilds or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, or with equivalent experience at a relevant engineering-management level 17th/18th Edition IEE Regulations Proven experience and demonstrable success within in a similar position Strong technical understanding of electrical engineering concepts, and interfaces with mechanical engineering activities Experienced in understanding and commissioning PLC code Experience of continuous manufacturing processes such as polymer, paper or other converting process facilities is desirable Strong supervisory and communication skills Excellent team player Proven experience in estimation, planning and implementation of workload within a multifunction team Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills Proven ability to plan and resource both planned and emergency shutdowns to lines If you feel that you are well suited to the above opportunity and would like to find out more then please contact Orion Group for more information or apply by forwarding your current CV quoting reference 929236.
