We have a brand new opportunity that is working directly for our client in central London. We are looking for an Audio-Visual Support Engineer to deliver excellent customer service in providing first line support to the Company’s Audio Visual systems and users. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting in to the Broadcast & AV Manager the successful candidate will be one of three Audio-Visual Support Engineers focused on delivering exceptional AV support to all departments initially at our client’s office headquarters. Core hours will be shift work working 5 days per week and event days depending on the needs of the business. Due to possible travel requirements, it is essential for candidates to have a driving license (own vehicle preferred, but not essential). All candidates should be technically competent and have a real desire to be helpful and assist colleagues. They will have a pleasing, service-minded attitude, so as to provide an excellent level of service to people across the company, of varying seniority. In addition, they should be concerned with efficiency and have methodical organisation skills. In return, they can expect a friendly, hardworking but flexible environment where growth and development is actively encouraged, as well as beautiful office premises. • Provide first line support with wide variety of AV software and hardware • Use Service Desk software to manage all support and service requests effectively and in a timely manner • Take complete ownership of and resolving all notified support and service issues, promptly, courteously and professionally to agreed service levels (SLAs) • Employ excellent communication with end-users, managing their expectations and keeping them fully informed throughout the process • Escalate problems appropriately to 2nd & 3rd line support • Maintain training and support function documentation • Ensure all installations and support resolutions are thoroughly checked and tested before commissioning • Prepare meeting rooms for presentations, Video and Audio conferencing, and collaboration, assisting users with technical presentation needs as required • Maintain an accurate inventory of all AV hardware, firmware, software and configurations • Contribute to specification and procuring of new hardware and software • Monitor and optimise AV system performance • Ensure new staff is set up with the correct software, hardware and adequate AV training • Maintenance of user databases, ensuring leavers are logged and their access to AV systems are removed • Provide assistance in office relocations (IT equipment) • Leaving the support function in such a state that it could easily be picked up by colleagues during absence. • Keeping the work area and support office clean and tidy, with items organised, labelled and stored appropriately. PERSON SPECIFICATION PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES • Thinks ahead, generates ideas • Values & respects others, builds relationships, collaborates • Gets things done and delivers to high standards • Incredibly high attention to detail • Concerned with efficiency and focused on continuous improvement • Confident communicator with strong inter-personal skills • Self-sufficient and motivated • A flexible attitude SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Previous experience within an Audio Visual Engineering role • Good knowledge of high end audio visual products including Crestron control, AMX and RTI. • Knowledge of Lutron lighting control, Polycom, Smartboards, IPTV and digital signage, and Microsoft Skype for Business. • Firm understanding of networking protocols, RS232 and RS485. • Good understanding of VOIP telephony infrastructure and specifically SIP. • Good understanding of Video Conferencing and Audio Conferencing systems. • The ability to correctly diagnose faults in hardware and software • Basic cabling skills and network fault tracing and testing • Ability to provision, and maintain rack builds (advantageous) • Knowledge of AMX / Crestron scripting and programming (desirable) This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89781778
