Overview
Job Title: System Analyst (1934) Location: Gloucester Salary: Commensurate with experience plus a good range of benefits Duration: Permanent Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday Role purpose To possess deep technical knowledge of our General Insurance solutions, to provide technical analysis expertise to support development and implementation practices. To ensure the solutions are fit-for-purpose, align to our architectural and development principles and leverage potential of underlying technology platform through sympathetic implementation, challenging the business requirements when this isn’t upheld . Key accountabilities · Work with Business Analysts, Business Users and Delivery Partners to provide guidance to stakeholders on defining effective and efficient approaches to achieve project and programme objectives, assessing them for both technical and business suitability against architectural and development principles. This includes a form of quality control to ensure adverse designs are not implemented and that stakeholders are challenged to revise process where appropriate. · Maintain a firm understanding of documented business requirements and processes across the GI domains, including Underwriting, Claims, Accounting and Workflow, supporting translation into technical artefacts and designs. · Create options papers to present to the appropriate Technical Design Authority. Responsible for the creation and sign off of technical solution documents working within the design framework, documentation standards and development practices, providing challenge and raising the appropriate escalation to the Product Guardian when the request does not meet our design principles or challenges the “out-of-the-box” solution · Conduct ad hoc analysis of system implementation and platform design · Support engineering teams with design and implementation of technical solutions · Playback of technical solution to Key Stakeholders, including Conference Room Playbacks as required · Create and review technical change requests, providing challenge and escalation when the request does not meet our design principles · Participate in proof-of-concept and innovation work where required, either independently or with delivery partners · Develop and maintain technical documentation and support knowledge sharing within the team Key performance indicators · Clear and concise design documentation · Effective communication of analysis to technical and non-technical audiences · Designs adhere to architectural principles, maximise investment in platform and are extensible and maintainable · Demonstrable effectiveness and efficiency within design and implementation process · Increased level of understanding of platform and best practices within implementation team · Extend technology knowledge base and support Business Analysts and SMEs · 360 feedback from key stakeholders Knowledge, skills and experience · Proven knowledge of working in the Insurance sector and preferably experience working in General Insurance · Strong proven track record of working in a system analytics role on an Insurance Platform, creating detailed technical documentation of a high quality · Experience in IDIT software solution (desirable not essential). Those without this skillset will be expected to undertake training · Strong communicator with the ability to converse and translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders · Experience of working with internal teams and third party vendors · Must have experience working in the full, end-to-end software development lifecycle, managing stakeholder requirements and providing guidance to project sponsors and senior stakeholders along the way To apply, please email your CV and cover letter to us.
