Overview
You’re an experienced Medicinal Chemist, with an excellent track record of managing and mentoring more junior scientists. You’ve proven your worth, and now it’s time to think, “What’s next?” More responsibility? Developing your knowledge? An organisation with more ambition? Sometimes, to make progress you have to move. Here’s a great opportunity to do just that. We’re working with a top drug discovery CRO who support a range of customers, helping them to bring compounds into the clinic, across a variety of target classes and disease areas. As part of an integrated drug discovery team, you’ll take over a team of medicinal and synthetic chemists, leading them to deliver programs that will lead to the next generation of medicines. You’ll work closely with your team to help them become better chemists, with an eye on project delivery and keeping your clients satisfied. You’ll work on inter-disciplinary teams too, with great visibility of the whole discovery lifecycle, as well as representing the company in front of clients and at conferences and events. Because of the level of this role, you’ll also form part of the local leadership team. Following a recent acquisition and re-structure, the company are poised for growth and have made significant investments in their facilities, so cutting edge research in state of the art labs will be the norm for you. There are also great opportunities to travel, learn, mentor and develop more junior scientists. To be successful in this role, you’ll be an experienced medicinal chemist, with a strong industry background and a track record of successful people management. You should also be someone who loves to coach, support and mentor staff, but isn’t afraid to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in where necessary.
