Applications Engineer Are you a design engineer or Applications engineer who is looking for a new poistion within a proposals engineer role? Then please apply for this role. We are currently recruiting for an Applications / Proposals engineer to join our clients growing team. Responsibilities will be to develop, implement and maintain an effective proposals resource to support the sales and marketing strategy; to include relevant disciplines required in the preparation of detailed tender documentation and proposals. Skills / Experience ? Experience working in a similar Engineering environment ? HNC / Degree / Post Graduate Degree in Engineering or a science related subject preferred ? Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines ? AutoCAD or 3D Solidworks experience would be advantageous but not essential Job Duties: ? Technical and commercial evaluation of sales enquiries, ensuring that all relevant information is available ? Preparation of proposal documents (including P&ID's and simple sketches), tender documents and estimate sheets in accordance with the appropriate standards and customer requirements, and within agreed submission dates ? Provide detailed cost estimates for tender submissions, liaise with suppliers in requesting quotations ? Work closely with inhouse engineering disciplines and external resources to prepare robust documentation and costing estimates for proposals ? Work closely with the sales team and provide internal support to all sales related activities ? Maintain accurate records of all tenders submitted, including associated documentation ? Support monthly sales meetings and prepare weekly status reports of proposals activities where required ? Support spares activity through preparation of cost estimates ? Convene and / or support sales handover meetings with relevant project engineers, design draughtsmen, sales engineers and associated disciplines ? Work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Design and Projects team to identify discrepancies and issues with final costs and designs against original estimated costs; and action accordingly to prevent future reoccurrences ? Liaise closely with the senior management team and provide support to other areas of the business i.e. design, projects, manufacturing, controls, accounts, installation and commissioning ? Establish effective working rapport / partnership with key suppliers, acquiring an in-depth knowledge of their respective products and services ? Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant legislation (i.e. Health & Safety, CE certification, etc.), customer practises and associated standards ? Review and advise in respect of any specifications submitted with new tender documents or orders ? Produce bid support material as required ? Input quote details and data on CRM and keep system updated ? Check all contract documentation and ensure compliance when a bid is successful ? Organise Budget Handover Meetings to Project Managers.
