Based on the 11th floor in Ty Admiral, we have the freedom to innovate like a small start up with the fortunate support of Admiral Group. The journey started for us when we launched unsecured personal loans in June 2017. The Role As a DevOps engineer within AFSL you will be responsible for the operational administration of our platform. Together with your colleagues you will own the maintenance, deployment, improvement and troubleshooting of all the systems that compose the AFSL infrastructure. You will be working in an informal, fun environment with some of the brightest minds around We’re working on new and exciting stuff every day, unencumbered by legacy technology. We prioritize automation, CI/CD and the latest technology to supporting the development teams. We will support you to pursue opportunities for training and development. A successful DevOps Engineer in AFSL is someone who: Has a deep working knowledge of maintaining, deploying, improving and trouble shooting IT systems in AWS Is eager and curious to learn. You don't need to have prior experience in financial services, but a willingness to get stuck in and learn about our business is key Enjoys working with agile methodologies Responsibilities Take part in agile ceremonies including requirements gathering, refinement sessions, estimation, sprint planning, daily standups and retrospectives High level of initiative and responsibility with a dedication to quality and attention to detail Communicate using a variety of methods; Slack, face to face, email Join in retrospectives and post implementation reviews to make sure we are all continuously learning To align with the strategic priorities of the AFSL business – our five key capabilities Promote and embody AFSL’s core values: to be transparent, have fun, be creative, be curious and to challenge with care Your Experience Essential: Demonstrable experience of deploying infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure as Code, primarily Terraform, in a production environment Knowledge of security best practice within AWS Python or similar scripting language Kubernetes deployment and administration It would be great if you also have: Linux administration experience Additional infrastructure skills such as networking / storage / etc. would be beneficial.
