Material & Logistics Specialist

A leading specialist product manufacturing client, based in the Dewsbury area of West Yorkshire, are seeking a Materials & Logistics Specialist to join them on a permanent basis. The Materials & Logistics Specialist will oversee the execution of transportation, related to customer fulfilment, this is ensuring the continuous supply of materials to the manufacturing sites as well as the distribution of finish products to customers worldwide. The role will have key responsibility for: > Working with all the S&OP stakeholders to ensure On Time Delivery to customers > Optimising OTIF supplier performance across the group with the internal procurement and supply chain teams > Ensure material flow through to the dispatch targets are met > Have complete responsibility for material movements for inbound, warehouse, controlling inventory for production > Handle all commercial data for logistic providers such as haulage and freight forwarders: Transport costs, Commodity Codes, Freight Rates, Tariffs, Import & Customer Duties etc. Key deliverables of the Materials & Logistics Specialist are: > Update the ERP / MRP system with relevant and precise inventory and transport data > Drive inventory stock holdings to achieve safety levels that meet the production requirements > Own raw material management plans and schedules > Ensure effective On-Time Delivery to customers through the transport delivery networks > Identify opportunities and optimise processes to reduce the transactional workload > Ensure issue resolution through the analysis of root causes and deploy solutions > Handle compliance of our inventory/transportation processes with regulation/audit requirements > Participate in projects to advise and support on transportation issues Experience: > Educated to graduate level in Logistics or a related field advantageous but not essential > Demonstrable experience in Logistics and/or Customer Service is required > ERP / MRP Experience > Previous experience of using SAP essential > Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are essential > Analytical and problem-solving skills > Proactive approach > Customer Focused > Ability to manage own workload > Proficient in Excel and knowledge of market intelligence systems > Ability to build partnership and work across different functions What's on Offer? £35000 Pension Holiday Fixed Term Contract If you want to discuss this position in more detail, please contact Elevation Recruitment Group.
