Overview
As a Senior Support Worker (Team Leader) you’ll be responsible for leading, directing, coordinating and supporting a team of support workers within a service that supports adults with learning disabilities and autism. You will be an active member of the team, also providing support on a rota basis however you will have the additional responsibilities of a team leader as set out below - This role is a “hands on” role and will be working with and managing a team of up to 12 staff members. The assessment, planning, implementation and coordination of the individual’s package of support and activities according to the needs of the service user. Development of management strategies, individual behavioural interventions, risk assessments and care planning. To ensure that the service provides opportunities for the service user to exercise determination, choice and participation in their community. Review, update and write reports on the person’s support plan, person centred plan and implement changes required as well as communicating this within your staff team. Manage the rotas and ensure that there is effective communication between yourself, your team and your service manager. Ensure that all paperwork is clear and accurate, and train the staff within your team to ensure these are completed to the best standard. The Successful Candidate We’re looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker (Team Leader). You’ll also need experience of supporting people with Learning Disabilities / Autism, (minimum 3 years) You’ll demonstrate a sound knowledge of the health and social care act, person centred planning, positive behavioural support, knowledge of CQC regulations. You’ll have knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and DOLS and how this impacts the delivery of support. You must be motivated, driven, patient, compassionate and understanding.
