We are very excited to announce a new service called Alabaré Place of Calm, which will open in Salisbury on 20th March 2020. For this service, we are recruiting Support Workers, full and part time vacancies available with an hourly rate of £9.32 rising to £9.55. To assist in the delivery of a safe and calm environment for service users struggling to cope with life. With the aim of avoiding the need for emergency care. The aim of the Alabaré Place of Calm will be to provide a Mental Health community-based venue to deliver a high-quality person-centred service with a focus on pre-crisis and prevention of crisis, which always considers people's safety, privacy and dignity. This service will initially be open between the hours of 4.30pm and 12 midnight 7 days a week We believe that all employees are the heart and soul of us. To be the first point of contact for visitors and callers who may/will require assistance/assessment to access the service. To provide support to service users who have previously been assessed. To work with the place of calm team to provide support to individuals experiencing mental health problems to avoid the need for urgent emergency care. To collect and collate data used for key performance indicators (KPI) and to support outcomes. To assist with the responsibility for the Health & Safety of the building, yourself, co-workers and service users. Report identified risks including Health & Safety and complete appropriate paperwork. Ensure alarms are set when locking up the building. Report any suspicious activity outside the building when leaving. With Service Users signpost mainstream community resources, building relationships with strategic personnel in these resources and promoting mental health awareness that will counter social exclusion. To offer dedicated support to service users as they access the service and expand their social networks, keeping in mind, care and support plans, risk assessments, crisis plans to an aim to build resilience. To work with the Place of Calm team to deliver a comprehensive community venue. To encourage service users to attend routine health care appointments. Care Support Worker | Learning Disabilities | Mental Health | Autism | Café | Social Work | Support | Communication | Reporting Essential Skills Experience of working in Health and Social Care. Experience of working with people with mental health problems. Excellent communication, both verbal and written. Ability to work in a strength-based way, and empowering service users, building reliance and focusing on difficult situations as well as respond to service users' needs. Able to work in partnership with a range of statutory and voluntary sector organisations. Ability to produce clear, concise reports and records. Full driving licence and willing to transport service users in a company vehicle. Desirable Skills Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to manage and prioritise own workload. The ability to remain calm in a crisis and to have a methodical approach to problem solving. To have a strong commitment to Equal Opportunities and the Equalities Act.
