Overview

I am currently recruiting for a Senior Rehabilitation Officer to work with a Local Authority in Wembley on a Permanent Basis. The purpose of the role is to optimise independence, through seeking a cost-effective solution to difficulties, including Service Users and carers of the community based and specialist support as appropriate. The candidate will be accountable for providing information and advice on benefits, special grants, and other resources available to people who have visual impairments and their families. The role will require candidates to manage the referrals coming into the service, responding to them in line with the Care Act requirements. The candidate will also be required to provide information and advice on special grants and other resources available to those who are visually impaired and their families. In addition to this, carrying out comprehensive assessment of service user needs and risk relating to their sight loss, including functional abilities, daily living skills, mobility and communication to maximise the use of remaining functional vision. The candidate will need to assess the needs of service users and carers under the Care Act 2014, the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended by the Mental Health Act 2007), and any other relevant legislation.
