Overview
About the roleAs part of a successful and growing Architectural services department, you'll provide direct support to the Associate Architect whilst joining a team that's been delivering industry leading design solutions for decades. Your organisational and communication skills will help you interact with internal and external contacts to deliver projects within time, quality and budget constraints. You'll also work closely with the Senior Architects, playing an integral role in the driving of quality standards and the development of the team as a whole. Principal responsibilities and accountabilitiesBe responsible for the production of schematic, general arrangement and detailed drawings in accordance with the relevant standards and proceduresEnsure quality of delivery when producing or updating CAD drawings to internal and/or customer standards.Work closely with other members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient and buildable solutions.Communicate and collaborate with CAD technicians from other disciplines, other consultants, etc.Provide technical mentoring to junior members of the CAD teamAble to provide excellent service in line with the company philosophy of Perfect DeliveryEnsure thorough checking and accuracy of their own work and the work of junior CAD staff under their supervision, in accordance with company QA proceduresWhere required, take responsibility for the registering and document control of incoming information and outgoing deliverables.Where required, take responsibility for maintaining drawing records, such as check and record file copiesDevelop positive relationships with customers through good professional conductParticipate in knowledge sharing across team and locationsAttend in-house CAD courses and seminarsKeep up to date with design trends/ design techniques (BIM etc.)Interact on project standards coordination with customersExcellent team ethic, and ability to work extended hours on occasions when requiredRepresent my client in external project technical meetings if requiredHND or foundation degree in architectural technology, construction or the built environment.Ideally aiming for a CIAT-accredited honours degree in architectural technology
