Overview
Our client is a local developer to West Yorkshire delivering higher end housing schemes across Leeds and the surrounding area and they are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to run their small but growing commercial team. The ideally candidate will come from a housing developer, potentially larger, where they can assist with bringing systems/procedures to the company to assist them in growing the company. In return this growing developer can offer organic progression to the right individual to potentially develop into a Commercial Manager or even eventually Commercial Director. The current commercial team consists of Assistant/Intermediate Quantity Surveyors and Buyer delivering residential schemes across Yorkshire of up to 200 units including some apartments and conversions. This developer acquires land and builds it's own units for sale or rent. As Senior Quantity Surveyor the successful candidate will oversee all the usual commercial aspects of developing small to medium sized housing developments and so previous experience of this is essential, ideally from a larger organisation. This is therefore a fantastic opportunity to become a bigger part of a small developer if you feel that a larger company is not for you any more. The Head Office is based in the Leeds area and this position is based there but includes regular visits to existing and new developments. It includes of a basic salary of £47k - £53k but any individuals commanding slightly higher would be considered depending on experience. The successful candidate must hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or similar and 5 years experience and demonstrate the ability to run a small commercial team.
