We have continuous night shift available with an attractive shift premium of 48%. A Senior Shift Engineering Technician is required to lead the shift production technicians and undertake engineering related activities associated with the manufacturing areas. In the case of a breakdown, the priority will be to support production to minimise downtime and maximise output. This position is based on a night shift working 11pm to 11am on a three days on, three days off cycle. There is a very attractive shift premium of 48% associated with this role. As Senior Shift Engineering Technician , you will be responsible for; Fully support, maintain, and uphold the core values of the site and company. Leads the shift production technicians. Effectively manages priorities, distributing technical resource to appropriate areas Works with the shift leader to help drive the H&S culture on shift, with respect to PTW, LOTO, DRA and the Safestart methodology Ensures compliance with all health & safety, regulatory, environmental and quality standards, adhering to company procedures relating to process changes and/or equipment modification Works with the shift leader to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost targets are managed across all areas on shift Provides technical expertise and assistance to production technicians in resolving complex machine related faults. To be a 'problem solver’ and provide solutions to engineering, technical and maintenance problems Coaches and develops the shift technical teams. Identifies areas of strength and weakness and formulates effective plans to improve Supports team-based activities aimed at achieving goals of minimising downtime, reducing waste and increasing Right First Time metrics across all shifts Possesses the ability to disassemble and reassemble complex machinery. Works in conjunction with the Process Engineer on selected projects Supports continuous improvement through identification and implementation of process improvements, maximising equipment effectiveness through 'Technical Excellence’ Provides ownership and compliance with the technical escalation matrix The successful candidate will have experience in a technical capacity and a thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems. You will have qualifications in HNC, or equivalent, in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, or equivalent, plus proven experience of a similar position in a high-volume manufacturing plant. N.E.B.S.S or equivalent an advantage. You will have a positive attitude towards Quality, Safety and Continuous Improvement. You will be an excellent communicator and a team player.
