Overview
An award winning, leading electronics manufacturing client based in the Wiltshire area is looking for a Strategic Buyer to join their growing supply chain team as they continue being the world leaders in electronic products. The Company They currently dominate the market share for electronic products for consumer market and are looking to expand their team over the next course of the year. Joining a team of near on 100 professionals you will become part of the journey which will lead this client to their ever-growing success. Strategic Buyer This exciting opportunity will be about establishing new tendering processes, category management as well implementing new procedures as well as ensuring strategic operations across their global supplier base. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for helping to support the entire operations across the procurement function, leading negotiations, sourcing and contracts. This role does require international travel so please consider that in your application. Participate in the development of and become an expert User in the Purchasing/Planning modules within business management system. Lead / support / participate in negotiations, secure capacity and forecasting. Lead / support the creation and updating of supply contracts with suppliers, maintain Supplier Agreements and material / vendor master data in relevant parts Gather and analyse spend and supplier data, execute benchmarking, provide relevant data to sales tools Identify and project manage alternative least cost initiatives with regards to outsourcing, sub-contracting and e-supply chain to minimise cost and risk whilst maintaining product integrity and quality support with the development of innovative and sustainable initiatives to deliver continuous improvement Reductions in lead-time and cost through; supply chain performance improvement, in-house, cross-departmental process improvements and alternative supply chains. Improvement through design change proposals, rationalisation, process change, quality management and investment proposals. Ensure Quality, Delivery and Cost development of goods and services for direct and / or indirect spends. Develop and clearly communicate performance standards and achievement for key supply sources. Execute / support supplier selection / rationalisation process. Execute / support material cost budgeting and follow-up. Communicate progress and escalate recurring issues to Head of Supply Chain and Operations Director. Create an effective and business focused working relationship with key internal customers; Product Planning, Sales, Finance, Logistics and Engineering built on good communication and shared ambition Be aware of, participate in, and help develop Corporate Supply Chain initiatives. Develop cross company competencies that will contribute to the development of both the Supply Chain and general business performance Report on agreed objectives and long term strategy locally and to the group Strategic Buyer Requirements: CIPS desirable 5 years experience working within global supply chains Experience with procuring electronics/electro-mechanical sub-assemblies is required Manufacturing experience is a must Ability to travel In return, you will receive a salary of up to £45,000, 25 days holiday, competitive pension as well as the chance to join a globally successful organization.
