We are looking for bank … The Medical – Surgical Therapies Team at UHNM are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, forward-thinking Physiotherapist, with a passion for working within respiratory to become part of our dynamic team. Rotational experience can be gained in Critical Care, Paediatrics, Surgical Wards & SSCU, Medicine including NIV, Emergency Therapy Services which includes Accident & Emergency and Acute Assessment Unit, Frail Elderly, Cystic Fibrosis. As an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist, this post would provide you with the opportunity to consolidate and develop your skills as a Band 6, gaining valuable experience, clinical and leadership opportunities in a large acute tertiary setting. The post would allow you to develop your clinical and managerial skills, plus be involved in longer –term innovative development projects within the service. The post would also provide opportunities to supervise and develop junior physiotherapists and physiotherapy students in addition to Therapy Apprentices. You would be able to build on and develop your clinical and non-clinical skills, while working in the supportive Medical – Surgical Therapies Team. We are part of the UHNM’s progressive and friendly integrated Therapies department, where there is a culture of promoting learning, staff and service development. Recent service developments include the Surgical School, Frailty Response Service and the Critical Care Rehabilitation Team which all play a fundamental role in promoting person-centred care and safe and effective discharges. Supervision will be provided by the Band 7 Therapists and Principle Therapists and continuous development is supported through appraisal, internal training and external learning. Applicants will need to have on-call competencies and be experienced in working in a variety of respiratory areas within an NHS setting. The post offers the opportunity to work in an exciting University Hospital. The hospital is a regional centre for Cystic Fibrosis, Non-Invasive Ventilation, Motor Neurone Disease, and Neurosurgery. The University Hospital of North Midlands has a large Critical Care Unit, Non Invasive Critical Care & Tracheostomy Weaning Unit and Paediatric Critical Care Unit. The University Hospital of North Midlands is located on 2 hospital sites and the post works within a 7 day shift system which will include weekend, late shift, Bank Holiday and on call working.
