Overview
Occupational Therapist - Profound Learning Disabilities West Yorkshire £30,000 - £35,000 (negotiable DOE) Remit Compass Associates are proudly working with a well-established charity to headhunt for a full-time permanent Occupational Therapist. This role is based at the charity's main site in Mirfield which provides specialist long term/respite care and therapy for adults, children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Most service users mobilise using wheelchairs/walking aids, are non-verbal and have multiple complex needs. In total, there are 10 residential homes: 7 on the main site (6 for adults and 1 for children/young adults) and 3 in the community. On the main site there is a specialist school and well-equipped therapy centre which has a hydrotherapy pool, spa/jacuzzi and rebound therapy room. Service users have access to assistive technology, sensory rooms, outdoor playgrounds, communal areas and SMART flat. This role is an excellent opportunity for a creative, innovative and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who has previous experience of working with a learning disabilities/PMLD client group. Although holding your own caseload, you would work within a wider therapy team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, Assistive Technology Technicians and Therapy Assistants.
