Overview

11590 - Finance Manager Job Spec Location: Leicester Summary Due to a recent restructure, our Client - a thriving manufacturer who are part of an international group based in Leicester - is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic accountant to become their Finance Manager on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial accounting team consisting of AP, AR, treasury and costing functions. You will pro-actively promote, facilitate and enhance the financial awareness of all employees incl. managers, as well as maintaining the integrity of financial systems / reporting. Responsibilities To provide an effective financial / management accounting service which meets the needs of the business. Ensuring compliance with Statutory & Group accounting procedures, Preparation and submission of monthly accounts within three working days of the period end, Reporting of daily P&L and variable cost per earned standard hour reporting, Assistance with the preparation and submission of quarterly forecasts and rolling monthly forecasts, Explanation of variances from plan and implementation of corrective actions (where applicable), Design, development and implementation of daily KPI monitors for the business, together with corrective action plans for measures off target, Responsibility for meeting the SOX control requirement through co-ordinating the completion of quarterly testing and ensuring SOX documentation is complete / accurate, Responsibility for ensuring all Group Policies are complied with, Control of the nominal ledger, purchase & sales ledgers, fixed assets & VAT, Preparation & submission of accurate and timely VAT returns, and other government returns / statistics, Assistance with the preparation of annual budgeting, Preparation of year-end statutory financial accounts incl. liaison with Auditors, Facilitate and promote financial awareness throughout the company, Review of daily cash monitoring and cash flow forecast reports, Assist manufacturing managers to analyse and justify new capital equipment expenditure, changes in working practices etc, Continuously strive to improve the operating working capital of the business, Manage systems of control of capital expenditure in accordance with Group policies incl. preparation of regular expenditure reports, Monitor, train, coach and counsel team members, Comply with regulations regarding employment law, Strive to improve and streamline procedures and systems, Any other adhoc duties that may be reasonably required consistent with the role. Reporting to: Finance Director Requirements Qualifications: ACA, ACCA or CIMA with min. 3 years post-qual experience, Experience with costing and SOX is preferable, Experience with statutory regulations relating to finance, VAT, wages and salaries, Be highly organised & capable of working to deadlines, Possess excellent communication, teamwork and leadership skills, Be self-motivated, assertive, proactive & possess initiative, Package Appointment Type: Permanent Salary: circa £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (subject to experience) Performance-related bonus Hours: Full-Time (early finish on Fridays) Holiday 25 Days Bank Holidays Private Healthcare (Bupa) Company Pension Scheme (matched up to 5%) If you're interested & think you're suitable for this opportunity, please apply online OR call Paul Mitchell Associates (quoting ref: 11590) on 0116 254 9404.
