Overview
I’m currently working on an exclusive basis with a well known and prominent food manufacturer based in the South East who are going through a very busy time with lots of audits happening and the Head of Technical requires some extra support from an experienced interim Technical Manager/Consultant to help them through this busy period. This will be a 2-3 month contract and they need someone who has a very hands on approach who is experienced at supporting with multiple unannounced audits, performing risk assessments and gap analysis on the Quality Management Systems. This business supplies to all of the major retailers so they require someone who is confident dealing with them. The main areas of focus for the role are as follows: Supporting the technical function with daily technical priorities and customer audits, internal audits and standard audits to a high standard and an excellent performance. Able to advice/suggest adequate resourcing from a technical point of view to ensure operational and NPD projects are completed in line with customer and company schedules. Help to guide the hygiene team to support site GMP compliance with BRC and customer requirements. Supports the site with the “audit ready” agenda. Prepare for and participate in site audits and assessments. Playing a major role in external audits. Help with decision making for supplier approval and supplier evaluation activities, including suppliers auditing schedules. Ensuring BRC and customers’ standards requirements are effectively communicated to suppliers and helping with managing the supplier relationships and approval and monitoring programme. Contributing to Food Safety & Quality Management systems, creating food safety and quality training materials and providing technical systems training as required. Role involves liaising with all operational departments (Production, Engineering, Warehouse) including Sales, Procurement and NPD. Deputises for technical roles as required.
