Geotechnical CAD Technician

Geotechnical CAD Technician vacancy Our client are an award-winning geotechnical and geo-environmental consultancy with 7 offices in the UK and Ireland. Due to expansion we are looking to recruit a Junior to support our existing Senior CAD Technician. About You This role would suit a recent college leaver or someone with a good level of CAD proficiency (Autodesk primarily). This will be coupled with a relevant educational background in engineering, geology, geography, or IT/GIS. We would also accept applications from candidates currently studying and requiring day(s) release until the end of the academic year. Formal and informal training can be provided to the right candidate, but it is expected that the candidate will already be broadly proficient in the use of CAD (Autodesk). ·You will be highly organised with excellent communication skills and computer literacy. ·You will have an enthusiasm for the construction industry, earth sciences, or CAD, and will be able to work independently and within a team. ·Minimum qualifications required are either an NVQ3 in engineering or CAD discipline in addition to GSCE's in Maths and English. The Role As a CAD Technician you will be expected to be able to transfer the learning gained in your education to a commercial environment and be able to apply principles that you have acquired in combination with practical ability. You will work closely with project managers and other project engineers as part of a team and, where required, on your own following instructions given to you by senior team members. You will be expected to work within the office environment undertaking project work including, computations, analysis and compilation of graphs and figures, CAD models, and general ground investigation data entry and manipulation.
