Overview

Workshop Foreman/woman – Preston - £25,000 - £30,000 -Trucks Clemence Rogers are recruiting for a Workshop Supervisor to be based in Preston. Key Responsibilities: • Supervision and Control of servicing, maintenance and defect repairs, ensuring all service/MOT/defect documentation is completed correctly, signed off and uploaded correctly • Ensure the defect reporting procedure has been fully completed before authorizing repairs • Ensure the shunters are fully utilized and working to capacity either in the shunter or on associated workshop duties should there be no shunt requirements • Engage fully with all new technology being brought into the workshop. • Promote the use of modern technology where applicable to better achieve business objectives and improve on asset utilisation. • Liaise with the Traffic Team to secure the availability of equipment ensuring they are booked for test and presented in a timely manner • Assess and review your team, highlight skills shortages and or training needs to the Garage Manager • Organise and allocate work so only fitters trained in the necessary operations are allocated to work on suitable equipment they are trained to use • Notify the Traffic Office or third-party customer when equipment is ready to go back into service and provide a progress report to all concerned in the event the repairs/maintenance have not been completed and the equipment remains VOR • Maintain an up to date register of equipment support updates/bulletins and legislative changes that you can call upon and make available to Fitters should the need arise • Conduct internal snap audits of completed work leaving the workshop • Ensure that measuring and test equipment is inspected in accordance with the calibration • Procedures (including any specified secondary equipment) and available for periodic inspections • Experience of working on Mercedes Trucks • Carry out spot checks and engineering hygiene checks. • Conduct PPE Periodic Checks considering condition and availability of PPE equipment with individual and group safety being paramount • Carry out and record weekly safety checks in accordance with procedures and ensure that any faults/defects are rectified.
